Colorado passenger plates received this tab to update them for 1976.
There was a grace period for placing the tabs on the plate, where the untabbed plates could seen until the end of the first quarter of 1976.


This plate was issued to new registrations in 1976.
The PB on the left indicates that this plate was issued in Otero County.
These plates became necessary in mid-year of 1976 when the DMV ran out of the bicentennial/centennial red, white and blue plates issued in 1975.
The centennial refers to the Centennial of the state of Colorado which was admitted to the union in 1876

These centennial plate was issued in 1975 for the Colorado Centennial
The dies on the plate on the right are wider and were issued in only a few counties
The variation on the 6's on the plates is also readily apparent
The WM for the plate on the left indicates issuance in Garfield County
The ZA for the plate on the right indicates issuance in Custer County

A Metro Truck plate was used on any commercial truck less than 16,000 lbs used exclusively within a city or town and within a radius of 18 miles of that city or town
The TE on this plate indicates it was issued in Adams County

These two Colorado motorcycle plates appear to be made from different material, as can be seen from the back
The PV on the left plate indicates it was issued in Arapahoe County

I am not sure of the actual use of this plate which is numbered like a Governor's plate, but has an American Revolution bicentennial sticker to the right
